Gemotions

A lead weight seemed to be lodged in Leo's chest. He'd seen the flyers plastered around town, showcasing his photographs, his name nowhere to be found. He hunched his shoulders as he approached the café, pretending to examine a crack in the pavement. The streetlights bled halos in his blurring vision. It was the same gallery owner who'd promised him an exhibition last year, then promptly disappeared. The betrayal settled in his gut like a cold stone. He felt too heavy to even enter the café, too burdened to confront anyone.
